The right premises were required for the switch from classic work processes to agile working methods, including desk sharing and co-working. BIM Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH is a very traditional company. The remit was to break up the classic structures and to support the company in its transition to agile working, including scrum methods. In order to involve the team and start out from the point they had reached, a co-creation workshop was held in advance to determine employee needs and working methods. As a result of the workshop, the first test area for BIM and its new work processes was defined. The heart of the new work area is the project room including a mountain panorama. People can concentrate on their work there, take a short break or hold a team meeting. Sliding walls can be used to divide the project room into two separate areas. This creates even more space, which can be used flexibly if required. The ecological design is modern and fresh throughout the area. Whether in the library, in the cafeteria or at the co-working workstations, there are plants and shades of green everywhere which creates a relaxed atmosphere.
Project rooms, think tanks, flexible and multifunctional rooms now form an integral part of the agile workspace. There are no permanent workstations, so the teams can always sit down together on a project-specific basis and restructure as required. The newly gained working atmosphere and agile working methods offset each other perfectly and strengthen team cooperation at BIM Berliner Immobilien GmbH.
